Assalamualaikum.
Semalam, Sabtu, lepas solat Subuh, I felt a bit tired. Bantal ada kat sebelah je, but I decided to get up and sit on my working chair.
Then I told myself,
“Changes are uncomfortable, changes are painful, but staying the same is a lot more painful...”

Dalam personal development biasanya motivator pesan untuk tambah. Kena buat ni, kena buat tu, kena tambah ni, kena tambah tu.
Dalam Personal development juga there's another side, which is removing (declutter).
Declutter habit yang tak bagus, declutter barang yang tak pakai, let go the sense of recognition etc.
Ini contoh habit yang tak bagus yang boleh kita remove:
Remove habit tidur selepas Subuh
Baca lanjut tentang keburukan tidur lepas Subuh di artikel 'Larangan Tidur Selepas Subuh'Remove rasa kita asyik betul, especially dengan pasangan
Pesan Rumi, “Somewhere between right and wrong there is a garden, I'll meet you there.”Remove rasa kita bagus sangat bukan biasa biasa
Pesan Rumi, “My dear heart, never think you are better than others. Listen to their sorrows with compassion. If you want peace, don't harbor bad thoughts, do not gossip and don't teach what you do not know.”
Sometimes, we want to do something, but we keep telling ourselves, “Esoklah..”
Nak berubah, “Takpe harini last, esok ubah.”
Esok…
Esok…
Esok…
Days turn into weeks, weeks turn months, months turn into years, years turn into decades…
Pejam celik pejam celik, dah 10 tahun dengan perangai yang sama.
There’s a song entitled ‘Stay The Same’. I agree with the first part:
Don't you ever wish
You were someone else
You were meant to be
The way you are exactly
(Eh nyanyi ke tu? :D)
But for the part…
And I hope you always stay the same
'Cause there's nothing 'bout you I would change
I disagree with staying the same part. Ada benda kita kena ubah:-
Ada sifat malas: Kena ubah
Suka scroll FB: Kena ubah
Suka sangat sembang gossip keburukan orang, as if kita takde dosa langsung: Kena ubah
Nak berubah ni, susah.
It’s uncomfortable.
It’s painful.
But, staying the same is a lot more painful.
Contoh, nak ubah sikap malas. Suka bertangguh.
Sometimes it’s hard to get up. The best thing to do on weekend is… (wait for it)

baring atas katil.
Baru ni I was listening to a lecture by Ustaz Hidayat. He explained on 3 peringkat ujian.
Dalam ceramah tu dia sebut tentang mujahadah. Ustaz bagi contoh pergi masjid. He said,
“Nak pergi masjid, kalau hujan ada perisainya; payung. Kalau malas, apa perisainya?”
Dush. Macam kena tumbuk. It hit straight to my chest, aiming for the heart.
He said, mujahadah = jihad. Lawan dengan internal struggle. Lawan dengan sikap malas.
Changes are painful aite?
Another good example is, contoh nak declutter rumah. Declutter baju. Dude, it takes a lot of time and patience untuk declutter. It’s painful.
But, staying in a house filled with clutter, is a lot more painful.
Bayangkan, balik rumah lepas kerja, rasa nak marah.
Bayangkan, benda tu repeat hari-hari.
Bayangkan, tempias marah, terlepas ke anak. Terlepas ke pasangan. Family members.
Ada hati yang terluka…
What if, bila balik rumah, permandangan macam ni:
Tenang kan?
Bila tak ada barang, tak ada apa nak dikemaskan. Hence, tiada lagi omelan kecil dalam hati, “Asyik aku je kemas. Dah orang lain buat apa?”
Look, in my minimalism message, I’m not preaching about taking massive changes, such as:
Start berjalan 10,000 langkah setiap hari yeah!
Seminggu kena habis 1 buku, yes!
Start harini, 1 juzu’ sehari!
No. I’m not asking that. It’s good if you can do it.
But, I’m preaching about making small changes in life such as:
Slowly remove baju-baju yang tak pakai
Kalau ada 2 orang guna bilik air tu, tinggal 2 berus gigi saja
Jangan tinggal plastik makanan atau tisu yang dah pakai dalam kereta
It seems like small things. But small changes like these make all the difference in our lives.
So, what do you want to change today? It’s going to be painful, but staying the same is a lot more painful.
Choose your pain.
